Israel will not countenance any country in the Middle East possessing technology or weapons equal to or better than theirs. Iran recently proposed a nuclear free Middle East as a solution to that conflict but neither the US nor Israel responded, nor was it widely reported in the media. No hope there. The US is hostage to Israel and will insist on and protect Israel’s nuclear exclusivity in the region. However, now that Saudi Arabia,Turkey  and Egypt are rumored to want nuclear weapons from Pakistan if the Iranian negotiations fail, I wonder how the US would respond to that. Even if an agreement is signed, how long before one of the three eventually acquires nukes?
