Canada, the US and Schadenfreude

The reaction by Obama and Harper to the recent shooting in Canada struck me as Schadenfreude. For both, the shooting served to justify their intervention in the Middle East and Obama can now put another country on his coalition list to fight ISIL. The Canadians and many others were shocked by the incidents but they should not have come as a surprise. The Canadians, like others in the Anglo American cabal: Australia, New Zealand and, above all, the UK, have followed slavishly American interventionist policies, so it was inevitable they would pay a price. The only surprise being it took so long.

In this regard, there is an excellent article in the Intercept site today: https://firstlook.org/theintercept/2014/10/22/canada-proclaiming-war-12-years-shocked-someone-attacked-soldiers/
